To sum it up in fewer words, my own personal opinion is that, for slots 6, 7, and 8, the 6% implants are the best bang for your buck for scanning implants, but slots 9 and 10 are of dubious use outside of salvaging for someone with T2 analyzers and higher skills. Potentially useful for a newer explorer, though, but at a cost of 25m ISK each. +4 vs +5 implants is a difference of 1.5 skill points per minute (2160 skillpoints per day) +3 vs +5 is 3 skill points per minute. (4320 skillpoints per day) Translating that into hours depends on how many skillpoints per hour you are training at. As a ballpark estimate you gain about an hour a day for each +1 on your implants. The best choice for Slot 6 Eifyr and Co. ‘Rouge’ Evasive Maneuvering EM-705 An Ark - the Amarran jump freighter - is considered by many to be the best general purpose choice; being the second fastest, second largest, and second toughest. Using the Virtue set benefits you if you are also using a Sisters Probe launcher and Sisters Combat or Core Probes as well.The Sisters launchers are 5% better than the Tech II versions and the Sisters probes are 10% better. The RSS probes give you 1.2% more scan strength but cost a lot.
One more thing of note:
The Covert Ops at level 5 (50%) does better at scanning in an Astero or Stratios (37.5%) but is equal to the Nestor at (50%).
